Water Babies

Patrick and Nautas were so excited for their first swimming lesson.
The Mommies and Daddies were just as thrilled!

He loved the water!

Especially because he could splash Mommy!

Trying out new techniques.

The mommies are being good listeners.

Britt and Nautas, enjoying the water.
Daddy wanted a chance to swim also.

"You want me to put my face in the water?...Done and done."

Adorable.

Adorable times five.

The teacher was so pleased with her class.

Of course, she did forget one of the songs and Charlie had to step in and help her make up the ending.
First swimming lesson down, and on to a cuddle from Mommy.
Patrick got a cuddle from Daddy.

What a great day!  This was such a fun way to kick off a summer full of new experiences!  Now it's time for barbeques, camping, and fireworks, all while taking in the sights and smells of the
summer season.

Teeth!

Houston...we have teeth. Two, to be exact! People told us that teething was rough, but it's so hard to watch this poor little baby going through pain. He does love to show them off when he's feeling up to it.  Here's a picture of his cute little tootins!
These are my new teeth!
I chew on everything for relief.

Eating Solid Foods

Ah yes,  the milestones of a "Teacup Human".   The first consumption of solid food, or something like it, for Baby.  Patrick approached this endeavor with bated breath.  After countless months watching Mommy and Daddy enjoying their scrumptious meals and mimicking the chewing movement as if to say, "Hello!  I'm ready to join you guys," Patrick finally got to partake in that wonderful act of nourishing our bodies while using a spoon!  So, how did he do?

Day 1. Sixth month birthday so Daddy made homemade rice cereal...
Ok, let's try this stuff.  This is what you and Daddy have been eating, right?

He's not so sure about this.

He wanted to share the yummy goodness with Mommy.  It was everywhere! Into the tub with you!

OK. Day 2. This better be good!
Hmm. So far so good...
Nope! Nope! I was wrong. Yuck!
You guys tricked me.  But I will try again.

I will conquer the SPOON!
Soon we will take on veggies!  Stay tuned...

Six Months

A funny thing happened on the way to six months... A wonderfully handsome little baby changed our lives.  Our top six favorite things about Baby Patrick:
    • When his bib spins around and graces his back, as though he is a superhero...I'm almost positive that he really is.
    • His laugh.  Oh that laugh.  It's what the laugh track would sound like on a sitcom that angels would watch. So sweet, so genuine, so precious.
    • When his own sounds surprise him. It's hilarious. When in your life is that ever going to happen again?  I guess when you're older and toots come out faster than you can say "I'm just getting up off the couch.  Really?  A fart just couldn't wait until I excused myself into the other room?  Seriously, what happened to my control?  I used to be a champion fart-holder-inner." Actually that's a lot to say in one go, but surprising to the person farting non-the-less.
    • When he falls asleep in my arms after nursing. Cute-tastic.
    • He needs us for EVERYTHING! For some people, this can be a negative or positive...I choose positive.  It's the best ego boost in the world to know this little person needs you, craves you, and can't live without you...LITERALLY!
    • He is a ham just like his Mommy!  You cannot take out a camera, camcorder, phone, or any other device that somewhat resembles a camera without the cheezer smile making an appearance.  He is a dreamboat!
There is no finer investment for any community than putting milk into babies.

    December Tahoe Trip

Our baby, Patrick, is our pride and joy.  We can't wait to spend the first Christmas Season with him! Here are a few pictures of us on our trip to Lake Tahoe with the Kleiss Family.
Patrick was so toasty in his stroller jacket.

We were all amazed at the sight of the frozen fountain at Heavenly.

Adam had to test it out.

Who would have thought the mountains would look this bare on a December trip? The babies will have to wait until next time to experience snow.

Charlie doesn't look like he is freezing, but he is.

I wanted to climb in with him. He looked so cozy.

Brittany wore Nautas close to her heart. He was cozy too.

Just because it's freezing, doesn't mean you can't have Cold Stone ice cream.

    And cookies from Nestle Tollhouse.

This is how Patrick makes it easy for us to pack.

OK Mom, my cheeks are rosy and I'm ready to go home.
